I offer a 20 minute-free consultation for all services provided below. Please read through the descriptions to get a better sense of what you may need and do not hesitate to reach out with additional questions.

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy is a type of service offered to individuals that would like to grow (emotionally, mentally, physically, physiologically) in a number of ways. Therapy offers a space for you to share your frustrations, stressors, difficulties and challenges while in a nonjudgmental and forgiving presence. A Therapeutic relationship has no time limit however a treatment plan and direction may be discussed throughout the relationship to ensure your needs are being met.

Therapy can be an extremely uncomfortable and priceless journey. It is not all sunshine and rainbows but someone choosing to travel the road with you in the storm. Therapy can be one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. A caveat is, everything that is shared in therapy is confidential EXCEPT:

  1. When you threaten to harm yourself

  2. When you threaten to harm others

  3. Vulnerable populations are in danger (ie, elderly, children, people with disabilities, etc.)

  4. Supervision purposes (**This will be communicated directly to you!)

  5. Being Subpoenaed in court of law.

  6. You (as the client) have signed off on the rights to disclose!

If you have made it this far and still want to continue, please reach out! :)

Couples & Family Therapy

While I do not claim to be a couples or family therapist, I am extremely relational in nature and value important people in your lives to be apart of your journey. Sometimes, that requires significant people to join our sessions every now and then from your life and sometimes, that requires me to bring in relational assistance of trusted colleagues. This will always be discussed with you prior to the session and is always something offered to ensure we are touching on the relationships that need to be cared for!

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

EMDR is a trauma-informed and related technique that utilizes multiple theoretical practices to briefly focus on traumatic memories while reducing beliefs and emotions associated with the impact of our experiences. EMDR can be considered a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Emotion and Somatic Processing with a past, present, and future focus as needed.

EMDR involves 8 steps to include:

  1. History Taking and Evaluation: completion of a Biopsychosocial evaluation of the clients history as well as events that may have left a last effect, completion of screenings for dissociation, mood related concerns, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms.

  2. Preparation: includes psycho-education of the EMDR process, development of resources to be used within the EMDR process and outside of it, grounding practices, and implementation of skills. This phase may also involve creating a memory map of events or instances that connect to your belief(s), symptom(s), or event(s) relevant to you.

  3. Assessment: solidifying the memory map and creation of the target map to utilize within sessions.

  4. Desensitization: the phase involves using information from the target map and and asking the client to focus on the memory while adding in bilateral stimulation (BLS).

  5. Installation: follows the desensitization process going to zero disturbance and installing a more positive cognition of what you wish you could believe when the target is brought up.

  6. Body Scan: brings up any leftover distress once the memory or target has been processed and the new belief has been installed.

  7. Closure: debriefing and closure is essential to wrapping up EMDR sessions and invite any additional grounding, breathing and skills needed as clients transition back to the ‘real world’.

  8. Reevaluation: follows along with the clients journey with EMDR and invites clients to share what they have noticed throughout the process of utilizing EMDR in relation to what was processed.

Topic Areas I utilize EMDR for include:

  • Trauma and Complex Traumatic Experiences / Exposure

  • Perfectionism

  • Anxiety and Depression Related Disorders
